Files
Importing
Bring PDFs into your library from the Files app. Send files, images, text and links from other apps through the share sheet.
Import from Files #
Nexnor stores its own copy of the PDF in the library; the original stays unchanged. The title is the file name without its extension. For pages without a text layer, text recognition starts in the background.
You import one PDF at a time. Password-protected PDFs are rejected; unlock them in another app first. Send images and other files through the share sheet.
How to
- In Files, open the folder the PDF should go into.
- Tap + › “Import from Files”.
- Choose a PDF, for example from iCloud Drive or “On My iPad”.
Sharing from other apps #
In apps such as Safari, Photos, Mail or Files, tap Share and choose “Nexnor”. “Add to Nexnor” opens with the shared items. You can share up to 50 items at once, at most 512 MB per file and 1 GB in total.
PDFs become pages; images, text and links are placed as elements on a page. Other files, such as Office documents, are kept as original attachments; you’ll find them under Attachments in the document menu.
How to
- In the other app, tap Share and choose “Nexnor”.
- Under “Destination”, choose “Create New Content”, then a “Folder” (“Library” is the top level) and any tags.
- Or choose “Append to Existing Content”, tap “Choose Content” and pick the document. PDFs are then added as pages at the end.
- Tap “Save for Nexnor”, then “Done”.
Nexnor Inbox #
When you open Nexnor after sharing, the app imports the saved handoffs automatically. A banner appears at the bottom, for example “PDF Imported” or “Content Imported”. Tap “Open” to see the result, or ✕ to dismiss the banner.
If there are several results or something is still pending, tap the banner to open the “Nexnor Inbox”. It lists the results under “Imported Successfully” and everything not yet fully imported under “Saved Handoffs”. “Try Again” restarts the import of pending handoffs.
To change the destination of a pending handoff:
How to
- In the “Nexnor Inbox”, tap the handoff (“Review import or change destination”).
- Choose another destination under “Destination”, for example “Append to Existing Content”.
- Tap “Import”.
Opening without importing #
You can also open PDF, Markdown and TXT files without copying them into the library: choose Nexnor to open the file in the Files app, or tap the folder icon at the top left in Nexnor › “Open Document…”.
The file opens in the workspace and stays where it is. How to read, edit and later add it to your library is explained under External documents.
