Tasks
Subtasks
Subtasks break a task into small, checkable steps. Each subtask can have its own due date and its own reminders.
Adding a subtask #
To change a subtask, tap it in the details; the sheet is then called “Subtask”. “Done” stays turned off while the title is empty or reminders don’t match the due date.
Subtasks take the list and priority of the main task, but not its due date. In the task list they are indented below the main task, whose row shows the progress (for example “1/3”). They can also be checked off on the task card in the document.
How to
- Open the details of the main task.
- In the “Subtasks” section, tap “New Subtask”.
- Enter a “Title” and, if needed, a “Note”, then set an own due date and reminders.
- Tap “Done”.

Own due date #
Under “Own Due Date”, choose “None”, “Day” or “Day + Time”. With “Day” and “Day + Time”, “Date” appears; tomorrow is suggested.
A subtask with “Day” is due all day and only counts as overdue from the following day. Subtasks with “None” are listed in the “No Due Date” smart list.

Subtask reminders #
Under “Reminders”, tap “Add Reminder”. The menu offers presets that match the due date; presets already set are left out. To remove a reminder, swipe its row to the left. Reminders in the past are not delivered. If you have never allowed notifications, Nexnor first asks “Be reminded about this task?” when you tap “Done” – see Notifications.
- Day: “On the day at 09:00”, “Day before at 09:00”, “2 days before at 09:00”, “1 week before at 09:00”. You can change the time in the row afterwards.
- Day + Time: “At time of due date”, 5, 15 or 30 minutes, 1 or 2 hours and “1 day before”.
- Always: “Fixed Time …” – a date and time you set in the “On” row. Without an own due date, this is the only option.

Completing, reopening, deleting #
In the details of the main task, check off subtasks with their circle; completed ones are struck through. Checking off a subtask does not change the main task.
If you check off a main task whose subtasks are still open, Nexnor asks: “Complete All” or “Complete Main Task Only”. If you reopen a subtask under a completed main task, you can choose “Reopen Both” or “Reopen Subtask Only”. See Checking off tasks for more.
To delete a subtask, swipe it to the left in the details and tap “Delete”. You can also use “Delete Subtask” in the subtask’s context menu or at the bottom of the “Subtask” sheet. Nexnor asks first.
