Working with files

Every file has a menu with info, description, favourite, move and delete. You can work on several files at once with the selection, or move them by dragging.

Info #

Tap ⓘ in the list or choose “Info” in the … menu. From top to bottom, the info pane shows:

  • a preview, the title and key facts, with “Open” and the star for favourites,
  • “Content Description” with its status, text and actions, see Descriptions,
  • “Matches” – the pages an Apple Intelligence description is based on; tap one to open that page in the workspace,
  • “Tags” – tap a tag to assign it to the file or remove it again,
  • “Info” with kind, pages, size (for PDFs), created, modified and location with the full folder path, such as “Nexnor › Clients › 2026”.
Note“Matches” and “Tags” only appear when there are matches or tags. The grid has no ⓘ button; use the … menu there.

Merging files #

“Merge” creates a new file from the pages of several documents. Images, attachments and tasks are carried over; the originals stay unchanged.

How to

  1. Tap “Select” and select at least two documents.
  2. Tap “Merge” at the bottom.
  3. Change the suggested “Name of the New File” if you like.
  4. Drag the files under “Order” into the sequence you want.
  5. Tap “Merge”.
NoteThe new file is placed in the folder of the first file in the order and opens in the workspace. Text documents have no pages and are not merged. Without Nexnor Pro, the new file counts towards the 10 free documents; once the limit is reached, the Nexnor Pro offer appears.

Drag and drop #

Within Files you can move files, text documents and folders by dragging: touch and hold a row or tile briefly, then drag it onto a folder. A folder is outlined in blue when you move over it.

Valid targets are folders in the list or grid and the levels of the path bar. In selection mode, dragging a selected item moves all selected items together.

NoteYou can’t drag files from other apps into Files. Use Import from Files or the share sheet instead.
On iPadIn the sidebar, “On My Nexnor”, the folders in the folder tree and folder shortcuts also accept dropped items. Drag a folder onto the top edge of another folder in the tree to place it before that folder.
On iPhone DuoUnfolded, the sidebar also accepts dropped items, as on iPad.
