Editing PDFs
With “Edit Text” you change the text of a PDF directly – single lines or whole paragraphs – and move, resize, replace or remove images on PDF pages.
Change text #
Turn on “Edit Text” in the tool capsules; “Edit text: On” appears briefly at the top. Markup, comments, drawing and inserting work regardless of this switch. Nexnor remembers the setting for each document.
Nexnor writes your change directly into the PDF and uses the original font where possible. If a character is missing from it, Nexnor resets the line in a standard font and shows “A character is missing from the original font – the line was reset in a standard font.” “Undo” reverses a change.
If you tap an empty spot on a page, a new text box with a cursor appears there. If it stays empty, Nexnor removes it again. A text box created this way can only be changed while “Edit Text” is on.
How to
- Tap the PDF text you want to change. A text field in a matching font size opens over the line.
- Change the text.
- Tap the checkmark (“Apply”), press Return or tap beside the field. The X cancels.

Re-flow paragraphs #
When Nexnor recognises a coherent paragraph, tapping it opens the paragraph editor: a multi-line field exactly over the paragraph, with the same font size and line spacing. As you type, the text re-flows and grows downwards; a dashed line shows where it used to end. With “Edit Text” on, recognised paragraphs have a fine dashed outline.
The original alignment – left, right, centred or justified – is kept.
“Single lines” lets you edit the lines of this paragraph one by one instead; in the line editor, “As paragraph” switches back. Applying, cancelling and “Undo” work as for a single line.

Images in PDFs #
With “Edit Text” on, tap an image on a PDF page to edit it. It gets a coloured frame with four corner handles; its previous position stays visible as a dashed outline.
Tap “Done” (checkmark) or beside the image to write the change into the PDF. The X cancels. “Undo” reverses moving, replacing and removing.
- Move – drag the image. It stays within the page.
- Resize – drag a corner; the proportions are kept.
- Replace – choose “Replace image” in the bar above the image and pick a photo. The new image is fitted into the frame.
- Remove – choose “Remove image” and confirm.

Free PDF edits #
Without Nexnor Pro you have 5 free PDF edits. Every text change you apply counts as an edit – an edited line or a re-flowed paragraph. Editing images, markings, comments and bookmarks don’t count.
Once the free edits are used up, tapping PDF text shows “Edit PDF text” with the Nexnor Pro offer. With Nexnor Pro you can edit without limits.
