Reminders and recurrence

Nexnor reminds you of due tasks with notifications, lets tasks recur regularly and highlights one task as “Up Next” on the Start screen.

Device

Task reminders #

Open the task’s editor and expand “More options”. In the “Reminders” section, turn on fixed offsets: “At due time”, “15 minutes before”, “1 hour before”, “1 day before” and “7 days before”.

For an offset of your own, set the number with − and + (1 to 999, at most 365 for “days”), choose “minutes”, “hours” or “days” and tap “Add”. Your own offsets appear below with the calculated time – red if it has already passed – and can be deleted with “Remove”.

Reminders follow the task’s due date; if you move the due date, they move with it. Past reminder times are skipped. For subtasks, you set reminders in their own sheet.

NoteThe free version includes one reminder per task; with Nexnor Pro, as many as you need; without Pro, the “Reminders” section shows a “PRO” badge. Offsets of your own in days go up to 365 days.

Allowing and using notifications #

Reminders arrive as iOS notifications. The last row in the “Reminders” section shows whether Nexnor may send them: “Notifications enabled”, “Enable Notifications” (asks for permission) or – if you declined – “Open Notification Settings”, which takes you straight to the iOS Settings.

If you save a task with reminders before you have decided, Nexnor asks “Be reminded about this task?” – with “Allow Notifications” or “Not Now”. The same applies when you save a subtask with reminders; iOS only asks after “Allow Notifications”.

A notification shows the task title, the main task below it for subtasks, and the document and due date. It also appears while Nexnor is open. If you tap it, Nexnor opens the tasks area with “All Open” and shows the task in the details; a subtask is highlighted there.

NoteCompleted tasks no longer send notifications.

Recurring tasks #

Open the editor, expand “More options” and choose a “Recurrence” under “Schedule”: “Does not repeat”, “Daily”, “Weekly”, “Monthly” or “Custom interval”. With a custom interval, you set after how many days the task comes back (“Every 5 days”, 1 to 365).

When you complete a recurring task, the next one is created right away: same title, note, list, priority, tags and reminders, at the same spot in the document. Its due date is the next upcoming date in the series’ rhythm – the previous due date plus the interval, as many times as needed for an overdue task. Subtasks are not carried over. The completed occurrences remain under “Completed”.

NoteWith Nexnor Pro. Without Pro, choosing a recurrence shows the Nexnor Pro offer. Tasks that already recur keep their rule.
TipThe new due date follows the rhythm of the old due date, not the day you check the task off. If you check off an overdue weekly task, it therefore comes back on the next upcoming date in its weekly rhythm.

Pin as Up Next #

The “Up Next” card on the Start screen shows the most important open task. Without pinning, that is the one due earliest. To see a particular task there, pin it.

Press and hold a task and choose “Pin as Up Next”, or tap it in the task details. Only one task is pinned at a time; a new one replaces the previous one. To unpin, use “Remove from Up Next” or “Unpin” on the Start screen. Completing the task unpins it automatically.

NotePinning only applies to this device. Only main tasks are pinned.
